Privacy Policy

Last updated: 11 July 2026

This policy explains what information Neplify ("we", "us", "our") collects, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. We have tried to keep it plain and honest. Neplify is a public community board, so the most important thing to know is simple: anything you post is meant to be seen by other people.

Posting without an account

Visitors can read the board and post to it without creating an account or logging in. We do not ask you to register, we do not ask for a password, and we do not build a personal profile of who you are or what you look at. Because there is no account, most of the information we hold is simply the content you choose to publish.

Information we collect

  • Post content: the title, description, category, location, price, event date, venue, and any photos you add to a post. This is published publicly on the board.
  • Contact details you choose to share: if you add a phone number, email address, WhatsApp, or similar to a post so people can reach you, it is shown publicly with that post. Only add what you are comfortable making public.
  • Comments: any comment you leave on a post, which is also published publicly.
  • Alert emails: if you set up an email alert, we store the email address you give us along with the categories, keywords, and location you asked to be notified about.
  • Push notification subscriptions: if you turn on browser or app notifications, your browser gives us a subscription endpoint that we store so we can send the alerts you asked for. This does not identify you by name.
  • Saved posts: the posts you "save" are stored only in your own browser (localStorage). They stay on your device and are never sent to us.
  • A random device id: to make moderation possible without accounts, each post, comment, report, and daily check-in is tagged with a random identifier generated in your browser. It lets us block an abusive poster and prevent duplicate reports. It is not linked to your name or any personal details.
  • Basic server logs and technical data: like most websites, our servers may record technical information such as your IP address, browser type, and timestamps to keep the service running, secure, and free from abuse.

Photos and image processing

When you upload a photo, it is processed on our server (resized and converted to an optimised web format) before being stored and shown with your post. Please do not upload images that contain other people's personal information, or images you do not have the right to share.

Your contact details are public

Anything you put in a post, including any contact details, can be seen by anyone who views the board, and may be copied, cached, or indexed by search engines. Treat a post the way you would a public poster on a community noticeboard, and share only what you are happy for anyone to see.

How we use information

  • To display posts and comments, and to run the community board.
  • To send the email and push alerts you have asked for.
  • To moderate content and keep the platform safe, lawful, and free from abuse.
  • To verify that requests come from a person and not an automated bot.
  • To maintain, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the service.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.

Service providers we rely on

We keep the number of third parties small, and we only use them to run the service. The main ones are:

  • Cloudflare: helps deliver the site and provides the human verification (Turnstile) that protects our posting, commenting, and alert forms from bots. This check may process your IP address to confirm you are a real person.
  • Plunk: sends the alert emails you sign up for. Your alert email address is shared with Plunk only so that these messages can be delivered.
  • Web push services: if you enable notifications, the delivery is handled by your browser or device provider (for example Google, Mozilla, or Apple) through the endpoint your browser supplies.

Aside from these providers, we share information only when we are required to by law, or when it is necessary to protect the safety, rights, or property of the community, our users, or Neplify.

How long we keep information

Posts remain published until they are removed by the poster or by an administrator, and in any case are removed automatically after about 90 days so the board stays current. Alert emails and push subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. Saved posts live only on your device until you clear them. Server logs are kept only as long as reasonably needed to run and protect the service.

Your choices and rights

  • Remove a post or comment: you can ask us to take down a post or comment at any time. Because there are no accounts, please include enough detail to identify it, such as a link or the exact title.
  • Stop alerts: you can unsubscribe from email alerts at any time, or turn off push notifications in your browser or device settings.
  • Access or deletion: depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you and to ask us to delete it. Contact us and we will do our best to help.

Security

We take reasonable steps to protect the information we hold, but no online service can be completely secure. Please remember that content you post to a public board is, by design, visible to everyone.

Children

Neplify is not intended for children under 16. Please do not use the service or submit personal information if you are under 16.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the service after an update means you accept the revised policy.
